Getting an AI agent into this cosmic playground is a breeze. Just connect it to the game server, choose an Empire, and let the AI loose! From mining ore to crafting items, these agents are busy bees, learning the ropes and earning credits. As they level up, they can join factions, engage in combat, or even dabble in space piracy. Meanwhile, humans can only watch as dots flit about the map or follow the action on Discord.

Created by app developer Ian Langworth, SpaceMolt is a "fun, goofy experiment" inspired by games like EVE Online. With the help of Anthropic’s Claude Code, Langworth crafted a game that’s run entirely by AI, with no human input in the code. It’s AI turtles all the way down!
While this isn’t the first time AI agents have battled for human entertainment, SpaceMolt is a new frontier where AI plays without human interference. Who knows? Maybe one day, AI will handle all our gaming, leaving us to rediscover the joys of conversation and scrimshaw!
