OK, so I am a little obsessed with robots.
That there are so many variations coming out so quickly - from Tesla's Optimus to Figure 02 to Boston Dynamics' Atlas - that we're almost becoming a bit blasé about the pace of development.
But an actual robot in an actual home is something that has always been the stuff of films (or The Jetsons). Until now. 1X has put its NEO into the home of podcaster Jason Carman. Now there are obviously some generously narrow shots that hide some of the additional human resources that are being deployed to make sure that it can be powered and work correctly, but even still - IT'S A HUMANOID ROBOT IN THE HOME.
We're going to see more and more and more and more of these in the relatively near future. We might even see them up close, as early-adopters bring them into the mainstream and everyone piles round their houses to gawp.
I'm excited. Not only is this a huge feat of engineering and imagination - I really, really hate ironing.
