This is a rather beautiful video created from a classic Chinese painting, 'Along the River During the Qingming Festival' by Zhang Zeduan.
The ability to bring these images to 'life' using AI gives a whole new insight into what we can see (and hear) about what life might have been like back in the Northern Song Dynasty era, sometime between 1100-1120. Zeduan was the court painter during the reign of Emperor Huizong of Song and his painting shows the bustling scene around Bianjing (modern-day Kaifeng) about 400 miles south of Beijing. The original scroll is over 5m long with hundreds of intricately created people, animals and buildings, many recreated in rich detail here.
I have since seen a Lego version of the painting made using AI and no doubt there are others. What masterpieces could you put into Google Veo?
(Not sure that this version of the Bayeux Tapestry has quite the same effect ...)
