Skana Robotics, based in Tel Aviv, is making waves with its innovative AI-driven communication system for underwater robots.

Traditionally, submersibles faced communication challenges, needing to surface to transmit data, risking exposure. But Skana's SeaSphere fleet management software changes the game.

SeaSphere allows underwater vessels to communicate over long distances without surfacing. This AI-powered system enables robots to share data, adapt autonomously, and adjust tasks while maintaining mission goals. It's a boon for securing underwater infrastructure and supply chains.

Idan Levy, Skana's co-founder and CEO, emphasises the challenge of multi-vessel operations. The breakthrough, led by AI scientist Teddy Lazebnik, uses older, mathematically-driven algorithms for predictability and reliability, rather than the flashier, unpredictable new models.

Founded in 2024, Skana Robotics exited stealth mode this year, targeting European governments amidst rising maritime threats. With a potential government contract on the horizon, Skana plans to launch a commercial product by 2026, showcasing its capability to manage complex operations at scale.
