Nvidia is bringing chip production stateside, unveiling plans to manufacture AI supercomputer chips in the U.S. for the first time.
The semiconductor powerhouse has commissioned over 1 million square feet of manufacturing space in Arizona and Texas to build its cutting-edge Blackwell chips.
These chips, already in production at Phoenix plants run by Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co., will soon be joined by supercomputer plants in Houston and Dallas. While full-scale production is a year away, Nvidia's CEO Jensen Huang is excited about the move, saying it will meet the surging demand for AI chips and fortify supply chains.

This initiative aligns with a broader push by semiconductor giants like Foxconn and TSMC to develop U.S.-based infrastructure. The White House praised the announcement, attributing it to the "Trump Effect," while hinting at upcoming tariffs on imported chips.
Interestingly, Nvidia's U.S. investment pledge came after CEO Huang attended a swanky dinner at Mar-a-Lago. This gesture reportedly led to a reversal of a plan to restrict U.S. chip sales to China.
With Nvidia's bold step, the engines of AI innovation are revving up on American soil!
