Microsoft has unveiled Copilot Cowork, now available through the Frontier program, as part of its Microsoft 365 suite.

This AI-driven tool is designed to seamlessly integrate into existing workflows, enhancing productivity by automating tasks and managing complex, multi-step processes. Built on a multi-model framework, Copilot Cowork leverages industry-leading AI innovations while ensuring data protection and security.

Copilot Cowork empowers users by transforming data into actionable insights. By simply describing desired outcomes, users can rely on Copilot Cowork to devise plans, utilise tools, and track progress. With features like calendar management and daily briefings, it handles everything from sporadic tasks to recurring workflows such as budget reviews. Early adopters like Capital Group have already reported significant benefits, including improved planning and scheduling.

Since its 2024 launch, Microsoft 365 Copilot has evolved, and Copilot Cowork represents a significant leap forward. It focuses on executing tasks, coordinating actions, and ensuring follow-through across daily operations, all within secure enterprise environments. This allows organisations to experiment and scale AI solutions confidently.

Additionally, Microsoft has enhanced its Researcher tool with new features built on multi-model intelligence. The Critique feature, developed with input from Frontier labs, Anthropic, and OpenAI, separates task generation from evaluation. This dual-model approach improves the quality of research outputs, as evidenced by a 13.8% increase in the DRACO benchmark for research quality.

Researcher's new model Council feature allows users to compare responses from different models, providing a comprehensive view of varied insights. This innovation is part of Wave 3 of Microsoft 365 Copilot, marking a pivotal moment in integrating AI into the workplace. By combining intelligence with trust, Microsoft aims to transform AI from an experimental tool into a fundamental aspect of how work is accomplished.
