In a heartwarming twist of fate, nearly 160 individuals have found a place to call home, thanks to a dynamic partnership between homelessness charity Crisis and the TDS Charitable Foundation.
Launched last September, this three-year initiative has been a beacon of hope, lighting the way for those at risk of homelessness to secure private rental homes.
The magic behind this success? A network of five Housing Access Specialists stationed in Merseyside, Newcastle, Oxford, Birmingham, and South Wales. These local heroes, employed by Crisis, are not just experts in housing but champions of change. They’re busy busting myths about renting to those at risk and ensuring tenants receive the support they need to settle in and stay put.

From helping tenants claim their rightful benefits to providing ongoing wellbeing support, this initiative is about more than just finding a roof—it’s about building a home. The TDS Charitable Foundation has generously contributed £192,039 to cover essentials like deposits and furniture, making sure new tenants have everything they need to start afresh.
But the partnership doesn’t stop at housing. It’s also a driving force for policy change, advocating for the unfreezing of housing benefit rates and pushing for a more transparent rental market.
