Heat Pump Rules Relaxed for Landlords

The UK government is turning up the heat on energy efficiency by making it easier than ever to install heat pumps.
Starting May 29, the red tape is being cut, allowing air source heat pumps to be installed closer to property boundaries and increasing their allowable size from 0.6 m³ to a whopping 1.5 m³.
But wait, there’s more! Detached houses can now double up on air source heat pumps, embracing the power of cascade systems without the usual planning consent hassle. Plus, air-to-air heat pumps that cool as well as heat are getting the same easy-breezy treatment as their water-heating counterparts.
