Google’s Gemini is stepping up its game with a snazzy new feature called Personal Context.


This nifty upgrade means Gemini will now remember your past chats and preferences, making your interactions as personalised as a bespoke suit.


Picture this: you mention your love for a particular comic book during a chat. Later, when you’re brainstorming birthday party themes, Gemini might just suggest that very comic book as your theme, complete with matching food and games. It’s like having a party planner who knows you better than your best mate!


Michael Siliski, Gemini app's senior director, shared the scoop in a blog post, highlighting how Gemini is now more intuitive. Unlike its previous version, where you had to nudge it to recall past chats, this new iteration learns and adapts seamlessly. The more you chat, the smarter it gets—no reminders needed!

This update keeps Gemini a step ahead of Anthropic's Claude, whose memory function still requires a gentle prod to reference past conversations. But fear not, Claude fans—competition only makes for better chatbots!


Rolled out mid-August, Personal Context initially became available in Gemini 2.5 Pro in select countries, with plans for further expansion soon. So, whether you're planning a party or just having a chinwag, Gemini's got your back with a memory as sharp as a tack!
