Two-thirds of UK estate agents are falling out of love with major property portals, according to a survey by Property DriveBuy.
Initially, agents were smitten, with 59% "head over heels" and 26% optimistic about the platforms' potential. The honeymoon phase was sweet, offering wider advertising reach and increased seller appeal.
But alas, the romance has soured. Agents now cite relentless price hikes, poor value for money, and declining lead quality as relationship deal-breakers. Unequal pricing and inflexible terms have also left agents feeling jilted. Despite their dissatisfaction, many agents feel trapped, as portals dominate how homes are advertised and searched for.
