Microsoft Bing has just rolled out a shiny new toy: the Bing Video Creator.

This nifty tool uses OpenAI’s Sora model to transform your text prompts into videos, all for the fabulous price of free! Well, sort of free.

Here's the scoop: while OpenAI typically reserves Sora’s video magic for paying customers, Microsoft is breaking the mould by offering it gratis through Bing. But before you start planning your Oscar acceptance speech, there are a few quirks to navigate.

First off, the Bing Video Creator is currently a mobile-only affair, so desktop users will need to hang tight. And patience is a virtue here—videos can take hours to generate, even in the “fast” mode.

Fancy a video spree? You can whip up 10 clips at no cost, but after that, it’s 100 Microsoft Rewards points per video. Earn these points by searching with Bing or shopping at the Microsoft Store. Think of it as a digital treasure hunt!

As for the videos, they’re capped at 5 seconds each, and you can queue up three at a time. Currently, they’re in a vertical format, perfect for TikTok or Instagram, but horizontal options are on the horizon.

So, fire up your creativity and let the Bing Video Creator bring your text to life—one short clip at a time!
