Apple is reportedly on the brink of a Mac line overhaul, with the production of AI-enhanced M4 computer processors in the pipeline.
The news, as reported by Bloomberg News, suggests that Apple plans to equip every Mac model with these new chips.
The tech giant's timeline? Apple aims to roll out the updated computers, which include new iMacs, a low-end 14-inch MacBook Pro, high-end 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros, and Mac minis, late this year and early next year.

The PC industry has been in a bit of a slump post-pandemic, following a boom in sales for home-based work and learning. The industry's revival hopes hinge on a new generation of laptops and desktops equipped with powerful chips capable of handling AI tasks like document summarising without the need for cloud data transfer.
Apple isn't alone in this pursuit. Intel and Qualcomm are preparing similar chips, and Nvidia plans to leverage its AI chip prowess to break into the PC market by 2025.
The new M4 chips' AI processing capabilities and their integration with the next macOS version will be the highlight of Apple's plan, according to Bloomberg.
This news comes just before Apple's annual developers conference in June, where the company could announce new AI partnerships and significant changes to iOS.
Despite a 27% fall in Mac sales in Apple's most recent fiscal year ending in September, the company remains optimistic. Apple unveiled the current-generation M3 chips and new MacBook Pro and iMac computers equipped with them in October. The introduction of AI-enhanced M4 chips marks a new chapter in Apple's commitment to innovation and performance.
