According to Andreessen Horowitz's latest AI report, the race is on, and ChatGPT's rivals are hot on its digital heels.
Google's Gemini, xAI's Grok, and even Meta AI are closing the gap, making the AI landscape more competitive than ever.
This report, the fifth in its series, dives into two and a half years of consumer AI usage data. It highlights 14 top AI products, showcasing a mix of general assistance, image editing, and even dream interpretation. ChatGPT still holds the crown, but Gemini is making waves, especially on Android, where it boasts nearly 90% of its user base. Meanwhile, Grok has leapt from its initial launch on X to 20 million monthly active users, ranking fourth on the web.

Google's AI Studio and NotebookLM have also made their mark, entering the top 10 and 13 spots, respectively. Meanwhile, Meta AI faced a hiccup with user privacy issues, affecting its mobile ranking.
The report also sheds light on the global AI scene, with Chinese AI makers like Quark and Doubao climbing the ranks. Interestingly, 22 of the top 50 mobile apps hail from China, showcasing the country's growing influence in the AI sector.
