Jagger and Co go digital in latest release, bringing back some very young avatars of themselves.
It's being hailed as their 'best single in 40 years' - and the video throws us back to Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood (and the rest) from that time and before.
Using the latest AI technology, the creators of the video marry a current freewheeling ride around LA by actor Sydney Sweeney with some proper nostalgic singing, playing and gurning (and also smoking) by the band in their (much) younger years.
It's only at the very end that we see the band as their current, octogenarian selves - and they're looking pretty happy with themselves, as they have every right to do. It's a genuinely great song - and the ease with which it uses AI to bring their younger selves to life makes the video even more compelling.
We're going to see a lot more of this. With Abba's 'Voyage' event still bringing crowds flocking too, it will not be long before historic performers show up as AI avatars from beyond the grave. On this evidence, it looks like being a long time yet before this lot join them, however.
