I think we're getting closer to the fabled 'Prompt to Hollywood' film.

Here are some Seedance videos - unclear whether they're 2.0 or 2.5, the latter of which was announced this week - but either way, it's hard to argue that they're pretty special.

2.5 will be huge because of two things:

It will create 30 second videos, rather than the 15 seconds that 2.0 creates (Google's Veo 3.1, now Omni, is stuck at 12 seconds currently)

It will allow you to embed up to 50 multi-modal reference points. So characters, video movements, scenery, props - all of which mean that consistency across and between those 30s video snippets.

Add to this it'll be available in 4k and we're really moving into a world where story-telling via film will no longer be the preserve of multi-zillion dollar companies in Hollywood. That idea you've always been playing around with in your mind? Maybe you can now start to put it all together.

(If you're really lucky I'll drop in my 'Rock Me Amodei' take on Falco's 1980's hit 'Rock Me Amadeus' featuring Dario Amodei, founder of Anthropic's Claude. Or ... maybe this tech shouldn't actually be in everyone's hands ...)
