In East Ayrshire, first-time buyers are shelling out an average of £147,353. Meanwhile, Merthyr Tydfil in Wales and Mid and East Antrim in Northern Ireland offer affordable options at £156,498 and £175,308, respectively. Yopa’s data also reveals Wales experienced a -0.75% monthly price fall.

In England, Blackpool shines as the most budget-friendly spot for first-timers, with homes averaging £150,780. Interestingly, the average age of first-time buyers in the UK is now 32, though some areas boast younger buyers at just 27.
