Video of the Week: Grok Imagine

Not often that Grok gets a mention in these pages, generally because it's not usually as good as Claude, ChatGPT or Gemini.
However, the new Grok Imagine, based on this month's release of Grok 4.3, is oustanding. If you haven't been following the AI video space in general, bascially Google's Veo 3.1 kicks the butt of everyone else, to the point that OpenAI's ChatGPT has given up on its model, Sora, and just binned it.
But just before Google does its celebration laps, here's Elon Musk's Grok performing very well. This dropped from Musk himself today, 25th April, and has already racked up 4m views. Turns out that having your own social media site is a very effective marketing medium ...
And this time it doesn't look like just Musk's usual hype. Assuming the release matches this ad, then we've finally got something that might nudge Veo to even higher heights.
Musk continues to want to dominate AI and is throwing his not-inconsiderable fortune at it. He's recently been awarded a $59Bn pay packet by Tesla and is set to become the world's first trillionnaire later this year when SpaceX floats, with xAI and Grok inside it.
He also scored this week with the announcement that SpaceX will acquire Cursor, the trailblazing coding platform, for $60Bn later this year. Pump-priming the business with additional assets to ensure that the floatation lands, no doubt, but it's clear that he's not slowing down any time soon.
If that translates into AI that helps the world then great. This video tool looks the part. If it just presages even more dubious behaviour, such as the infamous image generator that took people's clothes off, then this could just as easily be the last time Grok features here too ....
